Delhi Airport to Vrindavan: How to Plan the Journey
Distance, drive time, the best time to leave and what to expect on the Yamuna Expressway between Delhi IGI Airport and Vrindavan.
By Yadav Tour And Travels

Most travellers coming to Vrindavan from outside North India fly into Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The road journey is the simplest way to complete the trip, especially with family and luggage.
Distance and drive time
The drive is roughly 175 km and usually takes three to three and a half hours via the Yamuna Expressway. Traffic leaving Delhi in the evening rush can add an hour.
Arriving at Delhi
- Share your flight number when you book, so the pickup follows your actual arrival time.
- Collect your baggage, then message your driver — international arrivals can take a while to clear immigration and customs.
- Keep some water and snacks handy; there are food stops on the expressway.
Returning to the airport
For an international departure, leave Vrindavan about six hours before your flight. For domestic flights, four to five hours is usually enough. Late-night departures are common, and drivers are used to them.
Noida International Airport (Jewar)
The new airport at Jewar sits beside the Yamuna Expressway and is roughly half the distance of Delhi IGI. If your airline flies there, it can save significant travel time.
Which car?
For two travellers with suitcases, a sedan works well. Families with four or more large bags are more comfortable in an Innova Crysta. Groups with lots of luggage should consider a Tempo Traveller with a roof carrier.
